Odanacatib is an effective and selective neutral inhibitor for cathepsin K(human /rabbit) and IC50 is 0.2 nM/1 nM. Odanacatib has high selectivity for off-target cathepsin B,L,S. Phase 3. Odanacatib is a newly developed bone-targeting dual action pro-drug for osteoporosis and bone metastasis. Odanacatib is also an inhibitor of cathepsin K, an enzyme involved in bone resorption.
