And 1-Bromo-3-Methoxypropane is also a key synthetic intermediate of brinzolamide, a drug molecule for the treatment of ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. 1-Bromo-3-Methoxypropane can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical chemistry and organic synthesis, for example, it is involved in the preparation of small molecule brinzolamide. Brinzolamide eye drops is currently a good drug for the treatment of ocular hypertension and the relief of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma. In organic synthesis, the easy-to-leave nature of bromine units is mainly used as alkylating reagents to protect oxygen or nitrogen atoms.

36865-41-5 - Preparation Method:

40g (0.2mol) of 1,3-Dibromopropane is added to 50ml of methanol, sodium methoxide (methanol solution) is added, reflux reaction is carried out for 6 hours, 100ml of water is added and stirred, extracted with n-pentane and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, after filtration, n-pentane solvent is distilled, 30g of crude 1-Bromo-3-Methoxypropane was obtained.
