2-Acetylfuran is a useful intermediate in the synthesis of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals, used in manufacturing aroma compounds, and is used in the production of the generic cephalophosphorin antibiotic Cefuroxime. Widely used in chemical industry and other fields.
