2-Picolylamine (CAS: 3731-51-9) is used as the intermediate or raw material in the organic synthesis and pharmaceutical synthesis. 2-Picolylamine is a synthesis reagent used in the synthesis of PPD analogues. PPD analogues are used to chemosensitize multidrug-resistant cancer cells to potential anticancer drugs. 2-Picolylamine is also used in the preparation of 5-Nitro-2-Furancarboxylamides displaying potent tryoanocidal activity against trypanosomiasis. It is a common bidentate ligand and a precursor to more complex multidentate ligands such as tris(2-Pyridylmethyl)amine. It is usually prepared by hydrogenation of 2-Cyanopyridine.
