Boc-D-Aspartic Acid (Boc-D-Asp-OH) (CAS: 62396-48-9) is an N-Boc-protected form of D-Aspartic Acid, an amino acid derivative. D-Aspartic Acid is the unnatural isomer of L-Aspartic Acid. Amino acids and amino acid derivatives have been commercially used as ergogenic supplements. They influence the secretion of anabolic hormones, supply of fuel during exercise, mental performance during stress related tasks and prevent exercise induced muscle damage. They are recognized to be beneficial as ergogenic dietary substances. Boc-D-Asp-OH is a cyclic peptide with inhibitory effects on glutamate. It has been shown to have potent inhibition of glutamate release in the rat brain and spinal cord, as well as in cultured cells. Boc-D-Asp-OH also prevents neuronal cell death induced by glutamate. This compound has a number of functionalities, such as being an analog of D-Aspartate and having an amide bond. Boc-D-Aspartic Acid is used for biochemistry.
