Application:

2-(2-Methoxyphenoxy)ethylamine (CAS: 1836-62-0) is an intermediate or impurity of Carvedilol (CAS: 72956-09-3). Carvedilol is a non-selective β-blocker, which can block β1, β2 and α1 receptors on the surface of myocardial cells, it also blocks the alpha 1 receptors of blood vessels. This product blocks the postsynaptic membrane Alpha 1 receptor, thereby dilating blood vessels, reducing peripheral vascular resistance; Blocking beta receptors, inhibiting the secretion of renin by the kidney, blocking the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, resulting in antihypertensive effect. No intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. Compared with the pure β-blockers and α1-blockers, the antihypertensive effect of carvedilol has unique advantages. Because of its alpha 1-receptor blocking effect, does not affect the myocardial contractility, and can expand the peripheral blood vessels, reduce peripheral resistance, no adverse effects on blood lipids, its β-receptor blocking effect also avoids the adverse reactions of simple α1-receptor blockers such as reflex tachycardia and orthostatic hypotension. Carvedilol can reduce the blood pressure rapidly and maintain the blood pressure for a long time.
