Bis(2,6-Diisopropylphenyl)carbodiimide (Stabilizer 7000) (CAS: 2162-74-5), is an important stabilizer of polyester products (including PET, PBT, and PEEE) ,polyurethane products, polyamide nylon products, and EVA etc hydrolyze plastic. Can also prevent water and acid attacks of grease and lubricating oil, enhance the stability. Can improve the hydrolysis resistance stability performance and service life of many polymers, especially at high temperature under the condition of damp, acid and alkali , including PU, PET, PBT, TPU, CPU, TPEE, PA6, PA66, EVA and so on.
Stabilizer 7000 can prevent the lower molecular weight polymer in the process.
Dosage: PET and polyamide monofilament fiber production injection molding products: 0.5-1.5% Upscale polyols polyurethane TPU, PU, elastomer and polyurethane adhesive:0.7-1.5% EVA: 3-5%.
Stabilizer 7000 is a steric aromatic carbon diimide anti-hydrolysis stabilizer. It reacts with hydrolytic products carboxylic acid or water to prevent the degradation of autocatalytic hydrolysis and improve the service life of many polymers, especially in high temperature and humidity and acid and alkali environment and other harsh service conditions.
In addition to acting as an anti-hydrolysis stabilizer, Stabilizer 7000 can also be used as a processing aid to prevent the reduction of molecular weight of the polymer during the extrusion process, thereby reducing the damage to the polymer during the process. Mainly used for the stabilization of polyester products (such as PET, PBT and TPEE), polyurethane products (such as PU system, MDI prepolymer, TPU, adhesive), polyamide nylon products and EVA and other easily hydrolyzed plastics hydrolysis stabilizer.
Main application areas: Polyester products (including PET,PBT) and many polyurethane products and polyamide nylon products,EVA and other easy hydrolysis plastic stabilizer. Also can prevent water and acid on the attack of lubricating ester and lubricating oil, play a stabilizing role. It can improve the service life of many polymers, especially the hydrolysis resistance, hydrolysis resistance and stability under the harsh service conditions such as high temperature and humidity and acid-base medium. These polymers include PU,PET,PBT, TPU,CPU,TPEE,PA6,PA66 and EVA. Stabilizer 7000 reacts with the decomposition product carboxylic acid or water to produce a urea-based compound that has no negative effect or effect on the stability of the parent material. Stabilizer7000 also prevents the polymer from decreasing in molecular weight during processing.
Application examples: Typically used in the production of monofilaments or for injection molding of PET and polyamides, Stabilizer 7000 is added to stabilizer of 0.5-1.5%, depending on the desired hydrolytic stability and acid value of the polymer. The recommended dosage for PU based polyol polyurethane TPU, PU pouring elastomers and polyurethane adhesives is 0.7 to 1.5%. The recommended dosage for some special product applications (e.g. EVA) is 3-5%. For nylon products, not only can significantly improve the hydrolysis resistance under high temperature processing conditions, but also have long-term hydrolysis resistance and stability under high temperature and high humidity and other harsh conditions.
