N-(4-Cyanophenyl)glycine (CAS: 42288-26-6), intermediate of Dabigatran Etexilate Mesylate (CAS: 872728-81-9). Dabigatran Etexilate is a new synthetic direct thrombin inhibitor. It is a precursor of dabigatran and a non peptide thrombin inhibitor. After oral administration, Dabigatran etexilate was transformed into dabigatran with direct anticoagulant activity in vivo. Dabigatran binds to the fibrin specific binding site of thrombin and prevents fibrinogen from cleaving to fibrin, thus blocking the final step of coagulation cascade network and thrombosis. Dabigatran can dissociate from fibrin thrombin conjugates and play a reversible anticoagulant effect.
