Fmoc-L-Methionine (Fmoc-Met-OH) (CAS: 71989-28-1) is an N-Fmoc-protected form of L-Methionine. L-Methionine is an essential amino acid that is obtained from our diet. L-Methionine can be found in grain legumes (such as lentils), and poultry. L-Methionine’s main function is to act as the primary “Start” sequence on mRNA so that the ribosomes can start translating the mRNA into proteins.
Fmoc-amino acids, used in peptide synthesis, used as an organic synthesis intermediate, pharmaceutical intermediate, biochemical reagent or chemical reagent.
Fmoc-L-Methionine is commonly used in biochemistry, especially in the synthesis of polypeptides. In addition, Fmoc-L-Methionine is an amino acid having an isoelectric point, which requires careful pH adjustment of the reaction system to achieve the desired product form.
Synthetic route for the synthesis of Fmoc-L-Methionine, the most commonly used is the molecular fragment coupling condensation reaction, first, the desired target product is obtained by a simple condensation reaction in one step by synthesizing the fragment of the corresponding structure.
