4-Amino-1-Butanol (CAS: 13325-10-5) is een nuttig tussenproduct in verschillende organische syntheses.Het wordt voornamelijk gebruikt in producten voor persoonlijke verzorging, de bereiding van in water oplosbare kationische flocculanten en ionenuitwisselingsharsen, evenals bij de bereiding van bèta-lactam-antibiotica.Het wordt gebruikt voor de productie van efficiënte anionische emulgatoren, niet-ionische polyethyleenemulsies, waterbehandeling, metaalbehandeling en absorptie van kooldioxidegas.Het wordt gebruikt als pigmentverspreidingshulpmiddel en verharder in geselecteerde textielharsen.4-Amino-1-Butanol wordt gebruikt bij de synthese van NSAID's met ontstekingsremmende eigenschappen.Ook gebruikt bij de synthese van polyamine-transportliganden met specificiteit tegen menselijke kankers die gemakkelijke toegang tot specifieke kankercellen mogelijk maken.
