o-Xylene, also known as 1,2-Dimethylbenzene, (CAS: 95-47-6) refers to the aromatic hydrocarbon with the two hydrogen atoms on the benzene ring being substituted by two methyl groups. It has three isomers o-Xylene, m-Xylene and p-Xylene. o-Xylene has an aromatic odor, is a kind of colorless flammable liquid. 1. Mainly used in the production of phthalic anhydride; 2. o-Xylene is the raw material for the fungicide fenpropanol, tetrachlorophenyl peptide and the herbicide bensulfuron, and is used as an intermediate in the production of o-Methylbenzoic Acid; 3. Mainly used as chemical raw materials and solvents. It can be used to produce dyes, pesticides and medicines, such as vitamins, pharmaceuticals, dyes, insecticides; motor fuels; production of plasticizers. It can also be used as aviation gasoline additive; 4. Used as synthetic monomer in pesticide and other organic chemical industry; 5. Used as a chromatographic reference material and solvent; 5.
