Deslorelin Acetate (CAS 57773-65-6) is a gonadotropin releasing hormone super-agonist. In is used in veterinary medicine to induce ovulation and to stabilize high-risk pregnancies. It binds to and activates pituitary gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) receptors. It stops the production of sex hormones. It is currently used to induce ovulation in mares as part of the artificial insemination process. It is also used to stabilize high-risk pregnancies, mainly of livestock and is also used to treat benign prostate hyperplasia in dogs. It is manufactured by Thorne BioScience LLC and was introduced to the USA market following the withdrawal of Ovuplant. It has been listed. D'eslorelin is being studied in the treatment of cancer as a way to block sex hormones made by the ovaries or testicles.
