Paracetamol (CAS 103-90-2) is analgesic and antipyretic drug. It is a pain reliever commonly used to treat headache, muscle aches, arthritis, and other acute or chronic painful conditions. Paracetamol formulated pharmaceutical products are used as antiinfectant, analgesic, anti rheumatic and antipyretic. It is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, hydrogen peroxide stabilizer and photographic chemicals.

It is also used for its antipyretic effects, helping to reduce fever.
