Pyridine Hydrofluoride (CAS: 62778-11-4) (also named as Olah′s reagent, PPHF), is a convenient reagent for organic fluorination reactions, e.g. employed with selectfluor for the geminal fluorination of 2,2-diaryl-1,3-dithiolanes. It is also used as reactant for the preparation of various target compounds. Pyridine Hydrofluoride is used to prepare beta-fluoroamines via reaction with amino alcohols. It is associated with nitrosonium tetrafluorborate to prepare gem-difluorides by reacting with ketoximes. It is also used to convert secondary and tertiary alcohols into their respective alkyl fluorides.
