Sodium Tetrachloropalladate(II) is used to test for the presence of such gases as carbon monoxide, illuminating and cooking gas, and ethylene and for the presence of iodine. Sodium Tetrachloropalladate(II) is used as a test salt for Pd allergy patch testing. It is used in chemical synthesis as a catalyst.
