Sodium Triacetoxyborohydride (STAB) (CAS: 56553-60-7) is used as a reagent in reductive amination of ketones, aldehydes and lactamization of carbonyl compounds with amines. Like other boro hydrides, Sodium Triacetoxyborohydride serves as a reducing agent in organic synthesis. Sodium Triacetoxyborohydride is a milder reducing agent than sodium-borohydride or even sodium cyanoborohydride. It reduces aldehydes but not most ketones. It is especially suitable for reductive aminations of aldehydes and ketones. However, unlike sodium cyanoborohydride, the triacetoxyborohydride hydrolyzes readily, nor is it compatible with meth anol. It reacts only slowly with ethanol and isopro panol and can be used with these. New catalysts for reduction amination have excellent universality and selectivity, mild reaction conditions, good catalytic reduction performance, and easy separation and purification. Both the catalyst itself and the by-products are non-toxic, and the environment is not toxic to the environment. Reagent is used for reductive amination of ketones and aldehydes, reductive amination / amination of carbonyl complexes and amines, and reductive amination of aryl aldehydes. As hydride reagent-- used in stereoselective reductive amination. Reagent for the reductive amination of aryl aldehydes. Selective reducing agent in organic synthesis.
