tert-Butylamine (tBA) (CAS: 75-64-9) is a primary, aliphatic amine, which is used in the production of accelerators for the rubber industry but is also applicable in the pharmaceutical and agricultural industry. It is a flammable liquid with ammonia smell. It is one of the four isomeric amines of butane, the others being n-Butylamine, sec-Butylamine and Isobutylamine. Used as an intermediate used in the production of: pharmaceuticals, crop protection agents, rubber chemicals, product for chemical syntheses. Packaging, available in bulk and drums. tert-Butylamine is a tertiary amine that is used as a building block in the synthesis of other drugs. It has been shown to have enzyme inhibitory properties and has been used in the production of pharmaceuticals like doxepin, an antidepressant. tert-Butylamine is a chemical reagent used in the synthesis of isoquinolines and pyridines, and the synthesis of Decumbenine B. It is also used in the synthesis of sulfonates and sulfonamides. tert-Butylamine is used in the rubber industry to make rubber accelerators, and in the pharmaceutical industry to make Rifampin. In the pesticide industry, tert-Butylamine is used to make insecticides and fungicides. In the dye industry, tert-Butylamine is used to make dye colorants. In the organic industry, tert-Butylamine is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. tert-Butylamine is also used as a chemical reagent in analytical chemistry.
